Sermorelin (GHRH 1-29) is the biologically active N-terminal 29-amino acid fragment of endogenous growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). It represents the shortest GHRH fragment retaining full biological activity at the GHRH receptor. Sermorelin was the first GHRH analog to receive FDA approval (1997, Geref, Serono) for assessment of GH secretory capacity and treatment of idiopathic GH deficiency in children.
